I agree Toney would be very good shout, though.

Rossal,

He wouldn't be shuffling down the wing if he's played as the striker.

Jesus wept, mate.

For similar money id rather a proper striker in Ivan Toney

See the graphic that flashed up sunday.......wingers in prem and chances created or goals from take ons. Traore right up there for take ons....think chances created and goals he was bottom. 0 goals from his take ones so far this season, think Benny had 3 and Gray was 3 or 4 for some comparison.

No one can get the ball off him youre right.....well until he shuffles down the line and punts his cross out for a goal kick

Re: ⚽ Everton v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 0-1
Traore had an off season last year, like the rest of the Wolves team, after an excellent couple of seasons .The long hard
season in europe and the manager wanting out clearly had an effect.

This season, they look a lot more steady and are performing better (Traore included).

Bear in mind, Antonio hadn't kicked a ball in the Premier League until he was 25. Traore is 25 with a few seasons in the PL under his belt

Traore is as close to the style of Antonio as anyone I've seen.

Would Traore need to improve his goals per game, absolutely.

But if he's played up front, he'd be in a better position to score. This situation is set up for Moyes to work his magic.

Who would have thought Antonio, a player that ended up at right back for us, not technically the best, turn into the striker he is today? Yes he scored goals in the Championship, but that was playing bark, bollock and bite football. He had to improve a lot technically, to replicate his goal scoring form in the PL.

At the very least, Traore would get us further up the pitch when we're under pressure - no cunt can get the ball off him when he gets going and has blistering pace for the ball over the top. That is an option a team like ours has to have at all times.

I'Im loving the possession based football we're playing, but when we came up against Man U at home, we weren't at it with no Antonio (let's not kid ourselves, whilst we were always in the game, we hardly had the ball - we we're like the away team, with Man U always looking the most likely to score).

Because Traore didn't have the best of seasons, last year, we should hope that the Wolves board have very short memory like some on here, and are willing to sell him for a good price.

Thank you, please.

It’s Everton fans that are bigging him up on Social Media

Danjuma is a great shout

Traore is dreadful, last 45 games 2 goals and 2 assists. Bloke cant cross or shoot to save his life, if he didnt have pace would be in the Spanish 3rd division. Avoid like the plague

Stop bragging about Rice on social media, you plonkers, and maybe we’ll be able to keep him for another season.

The clever purchase this summer would've been arnaud danjuma. Always looked a no brainer. I think vlasic will do fine but danjuma would've been a better option. plays wide or through the middle with equal effect and would've been a perfect addition. We were linked early on in the window but it wemt quiet

Been going to Everton since 1990. Declan Rice is one the best I’ve seen. Until you see him live you’ll not appreciate it. Absolutely ran the show effortlessly today. I get it now.

How is it an upside for the owners if Moyes spends the budget for a striker on Vlasic-type players?

There are plenty of reasons to give the owners shit, but let’s not make stuff up!

I think Moyes will 'make do' purely because a worthwhile striker cover will cost a lot of his budget, he'll keep getting in Valsic types (if he doesn't workout) until we find the right cover.

It's his downside but the owners upside......

Going into a season where you're gonna be playing up to 60 games with 1 "recognised" injury prone striker isn't sound management, no matter how you want to dress it up.

I find it bonkers that anyone can disagree with that.

The price tag could be a problem with Traore, no doubt.

But if we'd manage to get the price down to 25 - 35 million then we should seriously consider it.

If anyone believes we shouldn't be willing to spend that, then you will need to lower your expectations on how well we can progress long term.

Antonio has scored goals throughout his entire career so it’s ridiculous to say he had no end product.

Plus Antonio didn’t cost us £50m or whatever obscene amount of money they’d want for him.

Re: ⚽ Everton v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 0-1
Traore has improved his end product in recent years.

His job would be to get the ball further up the pitch ( which he's fucking brilliant at)in order for pressure to be taken off the midfield which would allow others to get further up the pitch to be more of a threat.

if played centrally, I'd trust Moyes to turn him into the next Arnautovic, Antonio for us.

Antonio and Traore are uncanny, in their resemblance.

Two peas in a pod.

We also paid £40 odd million for Haller.
